Interview with Jade Willows, an Esperantist who lives in Ireland. Jade has been an Esperantist for four years now, and is a member of the Wakefield & Leeds Esperanto Group. She has been living in Ireland for two years.

Yes, this is Jade So Jade, where do you live and what is it like?
I live in Tralee, which is on the West Coast of Southern Ireland, near the sea. It’s in County Kerry. Tralee is known for the Rose of Tralee Festival, which happens once a year. It’s actually a beauty contest, but there are other events too - there are bands such as West Life and Sonique playing in the street and plenty happening.
It is a bit different here to Yorkshire (where I come from). The pubs in Tralee often have live music, and are more lively than in England. Around Tralee there are lots of clear, sandy beaches and mountains, and I’ve noticed there are fewer people than in England. The countryside is very beautiful.

Here's a map of where I live Who do you live with? What job do you do?
I live in a small cottage, which is very cosy, and I work in the hospital as a health-care worker. Jade on her bike

What do you do when you’re not working?
I like riding my motorbike. My friend Barbel (who’s from Germany) has a motorbike too. I’ve started scuba diving lessons in the sea, and also kick-boxing lessons. I also like going out (on the nights I’m not working) with my friends Kevin, Eileen and Donal.
At the start of this year I travelled to Holland for three months, where I worked in a large plant nursery.
I’d also like to start brushing up my Esperanto now. I read the Esperanto Chronicle and visit the Wakefield and Leeds Esperanto Group when I’m in Yorkshire, but I’d like to contact Esperantists in Ireland too.
